- Brainstorm a list of items that relate to the book in some way.
- Start collecting or making those items, the smaller the better (within reason).
- Find a clear plastic container between 6” and 12” high and 3”-4” in diameter (approximately).
- Choose a filler such as rice, pasta, small beads, etc…
- Make the filler appropriate colors for your book. You can use food coloring (directions online), paint, etc…
- Fill your container to about an inch from the top with your items and filler. Mix well!
- Glue or tape your lid onto your container.
- Put the title of the book on the container, and include a list of the items inside.
- You must include 10-15 items: if you include only 10, they ALL must be related to your book. If you include 15 items, 5 may be random items, like a paper clip, a button, a small feather, etc… Don’t forget the penny!
